Another busy week for the 1/2 class

Dear parents,
We had another wonderful, busy week in the 1/2! We had a great experience last week at Etowah and this week the Spivey Hall concert was the best. The group was Tahino.  They showed us a map of Central and South America and demonstrated music and dance associated with various countries. They also demonstrated a lot of Latin American percussion instruments. They were fabulous and we all danced the macarena.
Next week we will go to 7Stages to see Free to Be You and Me on Tuesday and we will have a Valentine Party on  Friday. We will let the children plan it, so if they tell you they should bring 12 juice boxes or a bag of chips, you can help them if you wish. They are responsible for it. The party is for them.
Our Oglethorpe intern is Jami Vance. She will be spending more time with us through the Spring. We are enjoying getting to know her.
Virginie Joyce, Soleil’s mother, has been working with the children to design new art work in the entrance hall. It is starting to take shape and it is beautiful. Many thanks to her for her talent and time.
DOOR ALERT! The front door has been worked on so right now it slams shut. Please be very conscious of little fingers. It can crush a little finger easily!
Thanks to Stacia Farabee who continues to work the pot holders! We will soon be through and the children will bring them home!
If you have not turned in the conference sign-up sheet, please do so ASAP!
Thanks,
Joy and Suzanne
