K/1 Class Newsletter

Greetings! This week the K/1 has been learning all about their five senses…seeing, touching, hearing, smelling, and tasting their way through sensory activities!  Be sure to ask your child to tell you about their Sense Detectives. We also started using our Math Boxes. Children sorted and counted objects inside their Math Box. Once they’ve had an opportunity to orient themselves to the objects and the process of working with them, we will begin working with sets and mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Next week is a very busy week for us. Here’s what’s coming up:

Monday – Bring a Friend to School Day! (Please respond to this email if a friend will be joining your child – you will also need to leave an emergency contact number for their guardian in case of emergency)

Tuesday – Begin work on our Five Senses Books

Wednesday – Field Trip to The Children’s Museum of Atlanta (Leave school at 10:00 am)

Thursday –  Sensory “I Spy”

Friday – No School: Teacher Workday (Child care available)
